There are many things to do at the Negril Royal Palm Reserve by yourself, with your family, or as a group. Here's a snapshot of some of the activities you can participate in:

Nature Walks... Enjoy the Negril Royal Palm Reserve's half a mile of boardwalk with a trained guide or by yourself following the interpretive signs. Stop to climb the 30feet observation tower to get an overhead view of the Negril Great Morass.

Fishing... Rent a fishing rod and we will provide the worms! Try your hand at catching African Perch and Tarpon in the Cotton Tree Lake. You can even buy the fish you catch!

Bird Watching... Come in the early morning or evening to observe some of the 50 bird species that live in the Reserve. You'll also get the opportunity to watch the endangered and rare West Indian Whistling Ducks fly overhead to feed near the Cotton Tree Lake.

Crocodile Viewing... We currently have 5 captive American Crocodiles on site and one Jamaican Boa. Spend a moment to visit these ancient and beautiful endangered species.

Education... The Negril Royal Palm Reserve Museum is equipped with lots of information including posters, books, natural exhibits and a model wetland. The museum is open for individual use as well as for tour groups. School groups may also choose from a variety of environmental lectures. Please inquire about lectures in advance.

Picnics... Bring along a picnic lunch to enjoy by the Cotton Tree Lake. Enjoy the tranquility of our Lake-Side Bar as you watch the Moorhens swim and the Tarpons jump. Cold alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages are available for purchase.

Horseback Riding... Guided horseback riding tours of the Negril Royal Palm Reserve and surrounding areas are now available. Explore sections of the Negril Great Morass and rural Jamaica by horseback! Groups of up to 20 persons are welcome. Please phone to book in advance.
